Farms in Bullitt County

Huggett Family Farm

Huggett Family Farm, established in 2014 , is owned and managed by Melissa Huggett, her husband Jess Huggett, and their two kids Lynzi and Layne. It’s a small, 3-acre farm that started selling eggs at the Shepherdsville Farmers market 3 years ago and on location at the farm from the beginning. They have since expanded to selling produce. They also raise sheep and sell as breeding stock. Everything is grown or raised on their farm and sold to the local community! They are a Kentucky Proud Farm and are always advocating and teaching agriculture to anyone that is willing to learn!

Cedar Creek Farms

Cedar Creek Farms in Shepherdsville, KY was purchased in 2000.

It began as a small facility to produce angus beef, but by 2017 the farm owners were ready to expand.

Now, Cedar Creek produces pork as well as beef, and is certified Kentucky Proud. They focus on raising healthy and happy animals.

The farm provides its “good, wholesome, and fresh” meat to the local community, and they use it as a way to support veterans who are returning home.

The Shepherd’s Criations Alpaca Farm

It is “where miracles happen” say Eddie and Gale Etherton, owners of TSC Alpaca Farm in Shepherdsville, Kentucky.

As alpaca lovers, they wanted to ensure that their animals were happy and well cared for.

So, they turned their passion into a business that helps other people do the same thing.

TSC Alpaca Farm breeds and sells their alpacas, but they also hope to help other enthusiasts keep their animals healthy by sharing knowledge. In addition, alpaca wool products can be bought on their website.

The breeding program at the farm is based on having a variety of colors, most importantly black and grey. Several of TSC’s alpacas are blue ribbon winners because of the careful breeding.
