Farms in Mercer County

Wild Roots Farmer Florist

Wild Roots Farmer Florist is a specialty cut flower farm, and floral design studio located in the charming town of Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Alexis Sheffield's love of flowers began in a floral design class while pursuing her horticulture degree. Originally only a wedding designer, the desire to grow and provide sustainably grown flowers to customers all around Kentucky grew the business from strictly floral design into what is now Wild Roots, both farmer and florist. Alexis, her husband Tyler and their corgi Remy spend many hours in the fields and enjoy sharing beautiful blooms with you!

They offer a Seasonal Share May-December which features seasonal fresh blooms, everlasting bouquets and holiday wreaths. As well as 4 week spring, summer and fall flower CSA shares.

Pickup locations are at local shops in downtown Danville, Harrodsburg, Versailles and Nicholasville.

Breezy Corner Farm

Breezy Corner Farm is owned by Jamie and Megan DeHart in Harrodsburg. They raise beef cattle and provide frozen beef to customers. Off of the farm, Jamie is a farrier (a person who takes care of horse hooves), and Megan is a registered nurse who also loves horses.

Four Kings Ranch

“Tucked behind the Bright Leaf Golf Resort in Mercer County you’ll find Four Kings Ranch, the home to 60 cows under the care of Cary King and his wife, Kim. Situated across 240 acres, you’ll find King caring for his herd, consisting of seedstock bulls, cows and calves.”

Both active in legislature and policies concerning agriculture and the cattle industry, King is involved with the Kentucky Cattlemen’s Association, while his wife is a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives. The Kings value caring for their livestock, as well as caring for the agriculture industry as a whole. Seeing the bigger picture is what led King to building his registered angus herd.” - Source
