Chaney’s Dairy Barn
Chaney Farm began in the 1940’s by the late Jim Chaney who found his passion for farming and Jersey dairy cattle. Jim’s son, Carl, took over the dairy in the 1980’s with his wife, Debra and together they grew cows, crops and a family. In 2003, when milk prices were very low, Carl and Debra made a decision to provide educational tours and make ice cream. They have added a viewing room where visitors can watch a robotic milker that milks the cows whenever they want, and they also started to bottle and sell their own milk. They are now able to use their cows’ milk in their ice cream, a change that has left everyone wanting to come back for more. In 2019, they made 26,000 gallons of ice cream!

Majestic Greens Farm
Majestic Greens Farm is located in Oakland, Ky. Maxwell & Davida, the faces and labor behind those delicious vegetables, started farming on borrowed land in Houston, Texas a number of years ago. They wanted to feed their family with locally grown produce. This eventually expanded to a community garden once the neighbors caught sight of the delicious bounty!
In 2016, they made the move to Maxwell’s grandparents' old farm in Oakland and from there, they learned the ins & outs of large scale farming. In 2018, after officially establishing the farm, they started selling at the Community Farmers Market in Bowling Green and began their Growing Together Farm Share. Maxwell & Davida use organic practices and no-till methods to maintain healthy soil and preserve their land. They limit their ecological footprint by using hand tools for most of the farm work, which is rare these days! It is evident that they take deep care in producing the best vegetables that they can, while also being mindful of the effect their practices have on the soil.

Oak Hollow
“About 10 miles out of Bowling Green in the small town of Smiths Grove, father and son Kenneth and Joe Lowe own and operate their family’s 8th generation cattle farm, Oak Hollow. Together on their family farm, Kenneth and Joe breed about 400 angus cows per year. Although most of the cattle the Lowes raise on their farm are breeding stock that will be sold to other farmers before heading to market, they also supply some cattle for Kentucky Cattlemen’s Ground Beef. “ - Source
