“We hold a Farm Field Day for 6th graders in Mason County once a year. We have about 200 students attending. We provide information about grain bins and electric safety, bees, livestock, and crops. We serve the students milk and cookies. We also do programs in elementary schools with our Bookbarn. Each elementary school can host the Bookbarn for a month out of the school year so the students can enjoy the books about agriculture. Teachers can use the books in their classrooms. We also work with a first-grade teacher and provide her with materials to do projects in her classroom during National Ag Week each year.”
