Airdrie Stud

The Airdrie Stud of Governor and Mrs. Brereton C. Jones consists of more than 2,500 acres primarily on Old Frankfort Pike, near Midway, Kentucky. Much of this land is part of famed Woodburn Stud, home of the immortal Lexington during his 16-year tenure as America’s leading sire in the 19th century. Woodburn, also the home of five 19th century Kentucky Derby winners, is in fact the birthplace of Kentucky’s Thoroughbred industry.

This gently rolling, mineral-rich land in the heart of North America’s richest limestone/bluegrass region, provides a perfect natural base on which to raise young runners of exceptional quality.

From the turn of the century through the fall of 1972, when Brereton and Libby founded Airdrie Stud, no Thoroughbreds had been raised on this prime land. Since then, well over 150 stakes winners and earners of in excess of $100,000,000 have been bred and raised at Airdrie -- an honor roll that includes more than 20 Grade 1 winners.

Airdrie’s proven stallions, exciting young sire prospects, a top band of broodmares, excellent land and a staff of dedicated, experienced horsemen combine to assure a bright future indeed.

Bellaire Blooms

Aaron Stancombe and Anna Bynum love to watch things grow. Their first flower beds were in downtown Lexington where they can still be seen. Aaron ran drip irrigation off of rain barrels and managed to grow beautiful armfuls of vibrant stems on our city plot.  As of 2015, they have expanded onto several acres near the Kentucky River in Woodford County where they continue to grow their blooms without harmful chemicals. Future plans include organic certification, veggies, chickens, and some fat and happy hogs. Bellaire Blooms
