There’s been a fair amount of discussion among the Kentucky agriculture community about the need for presentations beyond the classroom, such as civic groups and business organizations.
We want to build our team of Kentucky Agriculture Literacy Network speakers to serve more audiences across the commonwealth and help our communities understand agriculture’s impact on their economies and livelihoods.
Growing Farm & Food Connections: Engaging audiences outside of agriculture
Are you frustrated by the lack of understanding about agriculture in Kentucky? This interactive workshop will help you have more meaningful conversations on issues such as food marketing, sustainability, hormones, genetic technologies, animal welfare, antibiotics, food waste, etc., by connecting on a personal level. You’ll work alongside other leaders in Kentucky agriculture to consider perspectives outside of your sector and connect more effectively.
You’ll learn:
different ways to communicate food truths by leading with emotional connections.
resources available to help you be more effective in bringing agriculture to the classroom, civic groups, and businesses in your community.
tools to influence people’s thinking about modern food production and the diverse array of practices used today.
Join us for a thought-provoking afternoon to help build the team growing the future of agriculture across Kentucky by sharing our message in a way that engages new audiences.
The meeting follows the Kentucky Agricultural Council Annual Membership Meeting in the Freedom Hall Conference Room (North Lobby of the Kentucky Fair and Exposition Center).
