We are happy to announce that a new round of Kentucky Farms Feed Me Virtual Field Trips and corresponding curriculum are available for Kentucky teachers and educators to showcase agriculture, food production, consumerism, and careers in Kentucky. The first award-winning series was produced in 2011-2012 by the Kentucky Corn Growers, and it has been a favorite teaching tool for many teachers across the Bluegrass.
The new field trips were produced by Kentucky Farm Bureau Studios, with support from the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund and Kentucky farm organizations. They are ideal for primary and intermediate Kentucky, consumerism, and career studies. They are also regularly used in secondary vocational agriculture and foods classes.
Thanks to a grant from Kentucky Farm Bureau and the Kentucky Agricultural Development Fund, we are offering several workshops to present the new videos and material, which includes NTI and digital classroom-friendly activities. Teachers who register and attend the workshops will earn a professional development completion certificate and a link to all digital classroom files and videos. Teachers may also receive printed “Passport” booklets that students may complete as they watch the field trips. These booklets will be first come, first serve.
If you are interested in participating in these virtual teacher workshops, please register below and select the webinar date and time you are most likely able to attend. We will email you the webinar information in early July, but you may be asked to confirm your registration for a specific webinar. Teachers are responsible for submitting paperwork for PD approval. A one-page flyer can be downloaded here.
